WheatExport deliveries of Russian agricultural products in 2017 will grow by 20 percent compared to last year and amount to $ 20.5 billion. This forecast was voiced by the director of the analytical center “SovEcon” Andrei Sizov at the conference “Agroholdings of Russia – 2017″.

According to the analyst, the growth of agriculture observed today is primarily a result of successful export activity. As much as the agro industry can add by the end of this year, this is 3 percent, Sizov said, noting that this is certainly not bad, but modest result, compared with 2016 and almost 5 percent increase.

The expert attributes the main reasons for the slowdown in the growth rate of the industry to the strengthened ruble and the corn lost in the background of a record harvest.

The director of SovEcon also predicted a slowdown in investment growth in the agribusiness sector this year. The main problem of the business analyst called the stagnation of the demand for food with the stabilization of income.

Despite the growth of export of agricultural products abroad, Russia’s share in world exports remains insignificant. Last year, the USA and the EU (more than $ 130 billion), Brazil and China (more than $ 60 billion) became the world’s largest exporters, Sizov specified.
