Meeting with the Minister of Agroindustry of Argentina Luis Miguel Etchevehere was held on January 23 in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

Alexander TkachevMinister of Agriculture of Russia Alexander Tkachev during the meeting said that Russia is ready to increase the volume of exports of its goods, as well as “meet other import requirements of Argentina.”

During the meeting, issues of mutual participation in exhibitions and other events held on the territory of the two countries were discussed. The importance of enhancing interaction in science and the achievements of biotechnology, exchange of experience in the agricultural process was noted.

Particular interest from the Argentine Republic arose about the import of Russian fertilizers. In particular, it was a question of such high-quality fertilizer as diammonium phosphate, which, moreover, since August 2017 can be supplied to the territory of Argentina without a 6% import customs duty.

The meeting also became one of the preparatory stages for the next meeting of the Russian-Argentine Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific and Technical Cooperation, which will be held on February 7-8, 2018 in Moscow.
