WheatFood wheat grown by Crimean agrarians, was for the first delivered to the external market. About the success of the farmers of the peninsula said the head of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture Andrei Riumshin.

According to him, following the results of the harvest campaign of 2017, the country harvested more than 1.7 million tons of grain and leguminous crops. This volume has allowed not only to fully cover the domestic market’s needs for quality grain, but also to start exporting surplus food grains to the market of India, Saudi Arabia and Syria.

In total, 600 thousand tons of grain were sent abroad, Ryumshin said, speaking at a meeting of the Presidium in the State Council of the Republic.

Earlier it was noted that this year in Crimea it was collected a record harvest of cereals for the past 8 years. Last year, the gross grain harvest in the republic was almost 1.45 million tons.
