trainThe Russian agrarian department considers it necessary to provide, within the framework of the priority project “Export of agricultural products,” compensation of part of the costs for transportation of agricultural products and foodstuffs abroad.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev said at a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council on Strategic Development and Priority Projects that was held on August 30 that the department prepared a corresponding draft government resolution. It is a question of granting subsidies for partial compensation of expenses for the transportation of goods by land transport, including rail.

“This is one of the key areas of our work, the industry community here fully supports us,” said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, adding that it is planned to approve the rules for reimbursement of transportation costs within the next month.

Earlier it was reported that the costs would be compensated when sending goods to the Asian markets, primarily Chinese, Indian and Iranian. It is expected that this year the mechanism will work for the priority direction – export supplies to the PRC. To this end, 100 million rubles will be allocated from the anti-crisis fund.

Recall that last year, exports of Russian agricultural products and food increased to 17.1 billion dollars. Thanks to the implementation of the priority project “Export of agricultural products,” the volume of exports by 2020 could grow to 21.5 billion dollars.
